Weighted Shortest Job First (WSJF) Roadmapping

Implement a WSJF prioritization model for a complex medical logistics roadmap.

The Scenario

A global medical logistics company needs to prioritize 8 major development initiatives (e.g., vaccine cold-chain monitoring API, driver dispatch app optimization, ERP sync, GDPR data compliance portal). The engineering team is a bottleneck, and stakeholder conflict is high. You must implement the Weighted Shortest Job First (WSJF) prioritization model to maximize economic value delivery.

The Brief

Build a WSJF scoring model. Rate each initiative across User-Business Value, Time Criticality, Risk Reduction/Opportunity Enablement, and Job Size/Duration. Calculate the WSJF scores and propose the final implementation sequence.

Deliverables

  • A complete WSJF matrix table showing scores for all 8 initiatives and the calculated WSJF score.
  • A detailed definition document establishing the scoring rubrics for each WSJF component (1 to 21 Fibonacci scale).
  • The Cost of Delay (CoD) explanation for the three highest-scoring initiatives.
  • A roadmap sequencing report (max 400 words) explaining the economic rationale for the resulting backlog priority.

Submission Guidance

Submit your scoring sheet and roadmap sequencing in a Markdown table. Justify the inputs with clear business and operational assumptions.
