Change Impact Assessment

Assess the impact of a new time-tracking system on 3 departments.

The Scenario

A company is replacing manual timesheets with a digital time-tracking system. It affects Sales (field-based, often offline), Operations (shift workers, shared devices), and Finance (payroll processing). Each department will experience different impacts.

The Brief

Conduct a change impact assessment. For each department, identify what changes, who is affected, and the level of impact.

Deliverables

  • A change impact matrix: Department × What Changes × Who Is Affected × Impact Level (High/Med/Low) × Readiness
  • The top 3 risks across all departments with mitigation strategies
  • One "quick win" per department that would build early adoption

Submission Guidance

Impact is not just about the technology. A field salesperson who now has to track time on their phone while driving has a different impact than an office worker with a desktop.
